RETURNING TO THE RELATIONSHIP AFTER A FAMILY COURT DISPUTE AND ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES

As the dust settles in the family court, the once-united family is left to pick up the pieces of their shattered relationships caused by anger management issues. The bitter fight, fuelled by anger and resentment, has taken its toll on each member, leaving deep emotional scars. Yet, as the reality of their situation sets in, they begin to realize that their love and commitment to one another are stronger than past disappointments and trust issues. With a newfound sense of perspective, our clients started to rebuild, slowly and painstakingly, laying the foundation for a stronger, more resilient bond. As they worked to heal and move forward, they came to understand that the fight was not the end, but rather a necessary step towards a deeper, more meaningful connection. Through open communication which was at times difficult, empathy, and a willingness to forgive, they were able to transform their relationship, and emerged from the ashes of conflict like a phoenix, reborn and renewed not the same as before but they somehow made it and here is what they said.

‘We had been fighting over children’s custody in the UK court for several months’

‘My husband and I have been attending Leona’s family counselling sessions for almost a year and a half. We had been fighting over children’s custody in the UK court for several months. So I felt we needed to find a solution to begin rebuilding our relationship in order to discuss various issues a the counselling sessions.  I found it difficult to talk to my husband at first because he had taken me to court and had forbidden our children travelling to my home country. I was extremely upset and distressed, especially because  my grandmother had passed away at that time.

‘I found it hard…but we rebuilt our relationship as a separated couple’

I believe that through Leona’s counselling sessions, my husband and I have learned how to hold a conversation without upsetting each other so much. I particularly learned how to analyse his emotions well. We are still married and have chosen to live apart  in our own homes, prioritising our work and lifestyle while sharing child custody equally. Our separation appears to be going well. I believe we rebuilt our relationship as a separated couple and became better parents to our sons. Leona thank you so much for all your hard work.’

Let’s all agree that this couple’s commitment, diligence, and fortitude allowed them to succeed well beyond what most couples fail to achieve following family court battles.
