leona websiteTO BOOK CALL: 07 505 124 933 Westminster Psychotherapy Ltd is a private practice in London that was set up just before the start of recession in 2008 by Leona Sears and since then Westminster Psychotherapy Ltd has been attracting not only London based clients but also clients outside of London and from abroad. Many clients come to Westminster Psychotherapy Ltd through recommendation. Leona Sears brings into her private practice over 15 years proven track record of clinical and academic experience from training in the psychiatric and pediatric nursing between 1989 and 1994, BSc Psychology 2004, clinical placements between 2001 and 2009 at Marriage Care, Women’s Trust, Centrepoint, Homerton Hospital and Bayswater Families Centre. Leona Sears pursued her passion for psychology further by reading for doctorate course in counselling psychology and psychotherapy between 2006 – 2013 at the Middlesex University, but in the end, she decided to put the presentation of her doctoral thesis project about bullying on hold due to unfair practices. Over the years, Leona Sears has been enjoying working with people with complex as well easier to treat mental health issues. However, it was initially Prof Kratochvil’s work, clinical psychologist, that inspired Leona Sears to become a psychologist when she trained as a psychiatric nurse. She was later privileged to secure a post in the top psychological department in the NHS and she enjoyed supporting excellent psychologists i.e. Dr Worrell, Dr Green and Mr Tata. Leona Sears has chosen to have her private practice supervised by senior, internationally renowned  and recommended supervisors i.e. Mrs Karp and Mrs Gilbert to optimize her professional development.   

The essence of Leona Sears’ work is based on scientific and research evidence. She considers herself to be a contemporary practitioner who is solution focused and that likes to promote her clients’ autonomy. She enjoys supporting her clients in coming to terms with their situation or making recovery from their emotional problems, so they can make the most out of their lives. Leona Sears gained excellent skills with many mental health issues and her favorite areas that she likes to work with the most are: resistant depression, anger and outburst of anger, trauma, couple therapy, stress management including panic attacks, confidence and relationship difficulties.
